Our Journey with Xari – A gratitude post in progress

It has been several years since Joche and I embarked on the thrilling adventure of creating our company, Xari. Looking back, it’s been a rollercoaster ride, and I have cherished every second of it so for a while now I have been wanting to put a few paragraph together so I don’t take things for granted and I can comeback and be grateful of our journey.

Our company specializes in Line of Business Apps using the DevExpress ExpressApp Framework (XAF), but our expertise extends across Web, Desktop, and Mobile projects. Here’s a glimpse into our story and the milestones we’ve achieved along the way.

The Early Days

When we started Xari, we had a simple vision: to create impactful software solutions. We began with a humble Facebook group of just two members. Today, that group has grown to over 3,000 members, and our YouTube channel boasts more than 1,500 subscribers. Our blog attracts over 1,000 monthly sessions, and our contributions have earned us the titles of DevExpress MVPs and Microsoft MVPs. Collaborating with DevExpress and Microsoft to build tutorials for XAF and helping grow the Spanish community has been incredibly rewarding.

Our journey has seen us speak at prestigious conferences like .NET Conf, Build, Ignite, DevIntersection, and various meetups and user groups. Each like on Twitter and star on GitHub still brings us the same joy as it did on day one. Our XAFers Community Standup remains strong after several years, a testament to the vibrant community we’ve built.

Our clients’ testimonials are the highlights of our days and months. Hearing their success stories and knowing that we’ve played a part in their journeys is immensely fulfilling. We’ve had the privilege of working with clients and students from all around the world, even conducting a world tour to train teams in XAF.

I was watching a old zoom meeting and realizing that my daughter, now six years old, has participated in 70% of my meetings, and my new baby often joins our Zoom calls to keep the tradition alive. It’s a unique experience that brings a smile to my face every time.

Our Incredible Team

We could have not done any of this without the incredible team we built. We have grown to nearly 25 developers, each bringing unique strengths in areas like Database, Cloud (mostly Azure), Mobile, Reflection, Reports, Dashboards, and of course, XAF. From our longest-standing members to the newest additions, we constantly train each other and share our accumulated knowledge to ensure we deliver the best to our clients.

We have implemented DevOps practices, testing, CI/CD, containers, and more to stay at the forefront of technology. The shift to Blazor has caught the attention of the .NET community, and we are excited to explore its potential further. Each challenge we face, from difficult projects to the complexities of software development, only strengthens our resolve.

As we reflect on our journey, I can’t help but feel immense gratitude for everything we’ve achieved and the obstacles we’ve overcome. I am incredibly excited about what the future holds for Xari. Our passion for what we do, the support of our community, and the dedication of our team will undoubtedly drive us to new heights.

Thank you for being part of our story. Here’s to many more years of innovation, collaboration, and success.
